The Bombardier Global 5000 entered service in 2004 as a shorter-range companion to the Global Express, retaining the Express's wide 7'11" cabin width and 6'3" height but with a more focused 5,200 nm range mission. Powered by Rolls-Royce BR710A1-10 engines and equipped with Rockwell Collins Pro Line 4 avionics including HUD, the Global 5000 offers 13 passengers access to intercontinental routes at a lower cost than the full Global Express. Approximately 130 were delivered before the type was succeeded by the Global 5500.

Why charter it

The case for the Global 5000.

The story behind the type

Here is the detail crews love: The Global 5000 is a shortened Global Express tuned for speed, holding city-pair records while keeping a cabin wide enough to walk about in comfort. Small wonder it remains a favourite on charter fleets.

Cost-effective charter

Economy is part of the Global 5000 appeal: it delivers its class of cabin and range without the thirst of larger jets, which is why it prices so competitively for heavy jet charter. Sensible maintenance costs keep the hourly rate honest, and flexible dates unlock better still. Clients are often surprised how much aircraft it buys for the money.

Comfort that carries the day

Cabin comfort is where the Global 5000 earns its keep on charter, offering up to 13 seats, 195 cubic feet of baggage and the flexibility to lay the interior out around the trip rather than the other way round. A flat, quiet floor measuring 7 ft 11 in wide by 28 ft 0 in long means you can work, meet or sleep without the compromises of a scheduled cabin. It is the sort of space that turns a long day into a productive one.

Legs long enough to matter

The Global 5000 covers roughly 5200 nautical miles nonstop, enough for Geneva to Cape Town, nonstop, which on a heavy jet charter is the difference between arriving for dinner and arriving for breakfast. Range like this collapses connections that an airline itinerary would force on the same journey. In practice this heavy jet lets a client leave late and still land the same evening, fresh.

Heritage on the ramp

As a Bombardier product the Global 5000 brings a respected name and a worldwide support network, reassurance that matters as much to charter clients as the cabin itself. Decades of service have wrung the surprises out of the design. Choosing it is choosing a known, trusted quantity.

The fast way there

Few things matter more on charter than pace, and the Global 5000 delivers, holding about 488 knots or Mach 0.85 so meetings, connections and dinners all stay comfortably in reach. That speed comes from a wing and engines tuned for high, efficient cruise rather than brute thrust. On the clock, where it counts, it is hard to beat in its bracket.

The honest view

The Global 5000 as a charter aircraft, the honest trade-offs:

A design with proven, not brand-new, roots

The Global 5000 is a mature, thoroughly sorted design rather than the newest sheet of metal, which is a strength for reliability but means the very latest cabin gadgetry may sit a generation back. For charter clients who value dependability over novelty that is rarely a real loss.

If outright top speed or the newest cabin technology is your single priority, a more recent design may edge it, yet for most travellers the Global 5000 balance of comfort, capability and value is the more meaningful advantage on the day.

As alternatives to the Global 5000, it is worth weighing the Global 5500 and the Global 6000, both able aircraft in the same bracket. Broadly the Global 5500 is the quicker of the two, while the Global 5000 has the stronger short-field manners, so the right pick comes down to your exact route, party and budget, which our advisors are glad to lay out side by side.

All told the Global 5000 remains one of the smarter ways to fly long-haul and intercontinental charter, and Fly with Andreea handles catering, transfers, pets and every detail around you, quoting one firm price and replying within the half hour.

Global 5000, your questions answered

How much does it cost to charter the Bombardier Global 5000?+
Charter pricing for the Bombardier Global 5000 typically runs from around EUR 8,500 to 13,000 per flight hour, with the final figure shaped by your routing, dates, aircraft positioning and ground time. As a heavy jet it sits in the corresponding bracket, and in our experience arranging Bombardier Global 5000 charters a well-timed one-way or off-peak booking is often far more competitive than clients expect. Share your route and we return a firm, all-in price within 30 minutes.
What is the range of the Bombardier Global 5000, and which routes can it fly nonstop?+
The Bombardier Global 5000 has a range of roughly 5,200 nautical miles (9,630 km), enough to fly Geneva to Cape Town, nonstop without a fuel stop. In real operations we plan a little conservatively, since headwinds and a full cabin trim usable range, but on the sectors our clients fly most the Bombardier Global 5000 reliably turns a two-stop itinerary into a single, seamless hop.
How many passengers can the Bombardier Global 5000 carry?+
The Bombardier Global 5000 seats up to 13 guests. For longer flights we usually suggest booking a seat or two below the maximum, which frees space to spread out, work and sleep, and we configure every cabin to the party, whether that is a family, a board or a couple who simply want the whole aircraft to themselves.
How fast is the Bombardier Global 5000, and how long do typical flights take?+
The Bombardier Global 5000 cruises at about 488 knots (904 km/h), around Mach 0.85. In practice that is roughly 1h 24m over 1,000 km and about 4h 43m over 4,000 km. Speed is where this aircraft quietly earns its keep, routinely saving our clients an hour or more against slower types, time handed back at either end of the day.
What is the cabin of the Bombardier Global 5000 like?+
Step aboard the Bombardier Global 5000 and the first impression is space and quiet: roughly 6 ft 3 in of headroom, a cabin pressurised and insulated so conversation stays easy and engine noise fades into the background. We find guests consistently step off a Bombardier Global 5000 flight noticeably fresher than they would from a comparable commercial trip.
How much luggage can the Bombardier Global 5000 carry?+
The Bombardier Global 5000 offers about 195 cubic feet of baggage volume, comfortably around 39 large suitcases plus soft bags, and in our experience it swallows skis, golf clubs and a pram without drama. We confirm the exact hold capacity for your specific aircraft and party at the time of booking.
Which airports can the Bombardier Global 5000 use?+
As a heavy jet, the Bombardier Global 5000 can reach a very wide spread of airports, including shorter, more convenient runways closer to your final destination than the large hubs. We check runway length, altitude and slot availability for every departure and arrival so the aircraft lands as near to where you are going as possible.
On which frequent routes is the Bombardier Global 5000 chartered?+
The Bombardier Global 5000 is chartered on a wide spread of city pairs. Popular capital-to-capital routes well within its 5,200 nm reach include Amsterdam to Turin, Abu Dhabi to Jeddah, Milan to Bangkok and Turin to Bangkok. We fly it on hundreds of other sectors too, so tell us your route and we will confirm the aircraft and a firm all-in price.
How does the Bombardier Global 5000 compare to other heavy jets?+
Against other heavy jets such as the Global 5500 and the Global 6000, the Bombardier Global 5000 stands out for its balance of range, cabin comfort and real-world reliability. There is rarely a single best jet, only the best jet for a given route and party, and our advisors are happy to lay the options side by side so you can choose on the facts.
Is the Bombardier Global 5000 a good choice for long-haul, intercontinental travel?+
Yes. With about 5,200 nautical miles of range, the Bombardier Global 5000 is genuinely built for intercontinental travel, linking continents nonstop. On the longest legs we plan fuel, winds and payload carefully, and where a nonstop is marginal we say so honestly and propose the smoothest single stop rather than promise the impossible.
What engines power the Bombardier Global 5000, and how reliable is it?+
The Bombardier Global 5000 is powered by 2× Rolls-Royce BR710A1-10 (14,750 lbf each). It runs the Rockwell Collins Pro Line 4 (six-tube EFIS, dual FMS, HUD, TCAS II) avionics suite. It is a mature, well-supported design, and reliability is exactly why we place clients on it, because the smoothest charter is the one that departs on time and arrives without a second thought.
Can I bring my pets on board the Bombardier Global 5000?+
Yes. Pets fly in the cabin beside you on the Bombardier Global 5000, never in a hold, and in our experience this is one of the main reasons families choose private in the first place. We brief you well ahead on microchip, vaccination and paperwork for your specific route so boarding is effortless.
At what altitude does the Bombardier Global 5000 cruise, and why does that matter?+
The Bombardier Global 5000 cruises as high as 51,000 feet. Flying above most weather and commercial traffic means a smoother, quieter ride and more direct routings, and a lower effective cabin altitude is a large part of why guests arrive feeling rested rather than drained.
Is there a more affordable way to charter the Bombardier Global 5000?+
Often, yes. Empty-leg and one-way pricing on the Bombardier Global 5000 can be a fraction of a standard round trip when your dates are flexible, and off-peak departures help too. We watch live availability and flag genuine heavy jet opportunities the moment they appear.
