Private Jet Charter for Horse Racing

From the Cotswolds to Meydan, the great meetings do not wait. Andreea arranges private jets for owners, trainers, syndicates and guests to Cheltenham, Royal Ascot, Glorious Goodwood, the Melbourne Cup and the Dubai World Cup, landing you minutes from the racecourse.

No obligation, no commitment, just a fast, clear quote from Andreea.

Built for the racing set

A calendar that
rewards flying private

Horse racing is a travelling sport. The best fixtures are spread across counties and countries, often days apart, and the racecourses themselves sit well outside the major airports. Flying private turns that to your advantage: land at a small airfield near the track, arrive relaxed for the parade ring, and pair meetings that would be impossible by road or rail, a Cheltenham morning and an evening Group race, or a Classic weekend followed by a Group 1 abroad. When a horse gets the run at short notice, Andreea can have owners and connections in the air within the hour.

Two ways owners fly

From the box to
the winner's enclosure

Owners and connections

There for the parade ring

Trainers, owners and syndicate members travel together on a schedule set around the racecard, land near the course, and are trackside in comfort rather than stuck on the motorway.

Hospitality and guests

A day out, elevated

For a party in a private box or a corporate group, one aircraft carries everyone door to tarmac to track, with catering and ground transfers arranged around the meeting.

The racing calendar

The meetings owners fly to,
and where they land

From the Cheltenham Festival and Royal Ascot to Glorious Goodwood, the Saratoga meeting, the Melbourne Cup Carnival and the Dubai World Cup, the season runs across counties, countries and continents, often with only days between the marquee fixtures. Private jet charter is what lets an owner take in more than one. These are the great meetings and the closest business-aviation airfields.

The horses fly too

How a racehorse travels
by air

The runners themselves are among the most seasoned flyers in sport. A top-class racehorse bound for the Dubai World Cup, the Breeders' Cup or Royal Ascot travels by air in a padded air stall loaded onto a freighter, most often a Boeing 777 freighter or a 747 freighter, with a flying groom at its side, climate control, and its own hay and water. Horses carry passports, clear quarantine, and are walked and watered through the journey. Space is sold much like a passenger cabin: one, two or three horses to a stall.

Cabin classHorses per stallWhat it means
First classOne horse per stallThe most valuable runners travel with the most room, able to lie the stall out and settle.
Business classTwo horses per stallThe common standard for stakes horses, balancing space and cost.
EconomyThree horses per stallUsed for larger strings moving together.

The most famous equine air journey of all belongs to the Australian sprinter Black Caviar, flown across the world to win at Royal Ascot in 2012. While Andreea arranges the owners, connections and guests in a private jet, specialist equine carriers move the horses, and the two worlds meet in the winner's enclosure.

Breeds of the track

The bloodlines behind
the great meetings

Different racing, different horse. Knowing the breed is knowing the sport, from the Thoroughbreds of Ascot and Churchill Downs to the Arabians that carry the heritage of the Gulf.

BreedDisciplineWhere it rules
ThoroughbredFlat racing and National Hunt (jumps)The classic racehorse of Ascot, Epsom, Churchill Downs and Flemington. Bred for speed and stamina over a mile and beyond.
ArabianEndurance and desert racingThe ancient bloodline of the Gulf, prized for stamina and heart. Central to the racing heritage of Dubai and Saudi Arabia.
StandardbredHarness racing (trotters and pacers)Pulls a sulky rather than carrying a jockey. A staple of racing in North America and France.
Quarter HorseSprints over a quarter mileThe fastest breed off the mark, built for explosive short-distance racing in the United States.
Legends of the turf

The horses that made
the meetings famous

Facts worth knowing

  • Every Thoroughbred in the Northern Hemisphere shares an official birthday of 1 January, whatever the actual foaling date, to keep age groups aligned.
  • A racehorse can gallop at around 40 miles per hour, and the best cover the ground with a stride of over 20 feet.
  • The Melbourne Cup is known as the race that stops a nation, with the whole of Australia pausing for the running.
  • The Cheltenham roar is the wall of sound from the crowd as the first race of the Festival is sent on its way.
  • Frankel retired unbeaten in all 14 of his races, and Red Rum remains the only horse to win the Grand National three times.
  • Racehorses fly with their own passports, and the most valuable travel one to an air stall, the equine equivalent of first class.

Dress the part

What to wear,
meeting by meeting

Half the theatre of a great meeting is the dress code, and each has its own. From morning dress in the Royal Enclosure at Ascot to seersucker at the Kentucky Derby, knowing the code is part of the day. Tell Andreea the meeting and she can have outfits pressed and hung on board so you step off ready for the parade ring.

The races that matter

The Classics, the Crowns
and the feature races

Racing runs on two codes. The Flat, in summer, is pure speed on the level and home to the Classics. National Hunt, in winter, is racing over jumps, the world of Cheltenham and Aintree. The five British Classics, the 2000 Guineas, the 1000 Guineas, The Oaks, The Derby and the St Leger, are the championship races for three-year-olds, and completing the Triple Crown, whether the British, American or Australian version, is one of the rarest feats in sport. These are the races the meetings are built around.

MeetingThe race to see
Cheltenham FestivalThe Gold Cup and the Champion Hurdle
Grand NationalThe world's greatest steeplechase, over Aintree's famous fences
Royal AscotThe Gold Cup and the Prince of Wales's Stakes
EpsomThe Derby and The Oaks, two of the five British Classics

The traditions,

Every meeting has its ritual, and its glass. It is the singalong at Ascot, the roar at Cheltenham, and My Old Kentucky Home before the Derby. Tell Andreea the meeting and she has the onboard catering and champagne matched to it, a Mint Julep bound for Louisville, a jug of Pimm's for Ascot and Goodwood.

Horse racing
charter questions

Which race meetings can you fly me to?

Any of them. The most requested are the Cheltenham Festival, the Grand National at Aintree, Royal Ascot, the Epsom Derby and Glorious Goodwood in the United Kingdom, the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe at ParisLongchamp, the Kentucky Derby, the Saratoga meeting and the Breeders' Cup in the United States, the Melbourne Cup Carnival in Australia, and the Dubai World Cup and Saudi Cup in the Gulf. Andreea confirms the closest airfield to the course for each.

How much does it cost to charter a jet to a race meeting?

It depends on the aircraft and route. A short domestic hop to a festival can start in the low tens of thousands, while an international meeting on a larger jet costs more. Pricing works exactly as on our cost page: fixed and all-in, confirmed before you book. Send the meeting and party size for an exact figure.

Which airport is closest to Goodwood, Ascot and the British meetings?

It varies by course. Glorious Goodwood is served by its own aerodrome, Royal Ascot by Farnborough and Fairoaks, Cheltenham by Gloucestershire and Oxford, the Epsom Derby by Biggin Hill and Fairoaks, and Aintree by Liverpool. Andreea picks the field with the shortest transfer to the enclosure.

Can you fly me to Saratoga or Australian racing?

Yes. For the Saratoga meeting Andreea arranges the aircraft into Albany or the Saratoga County field, and for the Melbourne Cup Carnival and Australian racing she arranges the heavy or ultra-long-range jet the distance calls for, with handling and transfers at both ends.

How do racehorses themselves travel by air?

Not on your private jet, but on specialist freighters. A racehorse flies in a padded air stall loaded onto a Boeing 777 or 747 freighter, with a flying groom, climate control and its own hay and water, and travels one, two or three to a stall much like passenger cabin classes. Andreea arranges the owners and guests while equine carriers move the horses.

Can you get us there at short notice if our horse runs?

Yes. Declarations and the going can change plans within a day or two, and with 450+ vetted operators Andreea can often arrange same-day travel. When timing lines up, an empty leg can also cut the cost sharply.

Which aircraft suits a raceday trip?

For a small group of owners a light or midsize jet such as a Citation XLS+ is ideal for a domestic meeting, while a hospitality party or an international fixture calls for a super-midsize or heavy jet like a Challenger 350. Andreea matches the aircraft to the numbers and the distance.

Can a whole hospitality group travel together?

Yes. From a private-box party to a full corporate group, one aircraft carries everyone, with catering, champagne and ground transfers to the course arranged around the meeting.

Can I take in more than one meeting in a weekend?

That is exactly where charter earns its keep. A Cheltenham morning and an evening Group race, or a domestic Classic followed by a Group 1 abroad, become a single seamless plan rather than an impossible one by road or rail.

Can you fly us to the Dubai World Cup or the Saudi Cup?

Yes. The Gulf hosts two of the richest days in racing, the Dubai World Cup at Meydan and the Saudi Cup in Riyadh. Andreea arranges the heavy or ultra-long-range jet the distance calls for, with handling and transfers at both ends.

Do you fly to the Kentucky Derby and the Breeders' Cup?

Yes. For the American majors Andreea arranges the aircraft to the nearest business-aviation airport, whether that is Louisville for the Kentucky Derby or the host city for the Breeders' Cup, and coordinates the ground transfer to the track.

Is it cheaper to fly on an empty leg to a meeting?

Often, when the dates line up. An empty leg is a repositioning flight already taking place, and it can cost a fraction of an on-demand charter. Andreea watches live availability around the big fixtures and flags a match the moment it appears.

Do you handle the transfers to the racecourse?

Yes. Courses sit outside the major hubs, so Andreea arranges the car, or where it helps a helicopter, from the private terminal straight to the track, and handles the return afterwards.

Can I bring my dog to a country meeting?

Yes. Pets travel in the cabin beside you rather than in a hold, subject to the destination's entry rules. Tell Andreea when you enquire and she arranges a pet-friendly aircraft and the paperwork.

How do I get an exact quote for a race meeting?

Send Andreea the meeting, your dates and the number travelling by WhatsApp or the quote form. You will get a shortlist of aircraft, each with a fixed all-in price and the closest airfield, and she handles the rest through to the winner's enclosure.
